Kinda' Funny... well not rea

How the more "enlightened" a society becomes, the less in touch with morality they seem to be. While it is against the law to pray in school, and people sue to remove God from the Pledge and from our public and government buildings, and television shows that involve God regularly are canceled (not because they have low ratings, but because some people got offended), while all this goes on in the name of a society trying to be accepting of all people, blatant promiscuous sex and open homosexuality, offensive language and violence permeate our entertainment and are portrayed as “normal” and “acceptable.” Of course, I can change the channel or not go to certain movies and I can restrict my children from seeing it, but they hear about it at school and they cannot avoid it because it is everywhere and it is “normal.” For some reason, expecting people to change the channel if they do not want to see the love of God expressed in entertainment form is not good enough for them. Neither is saying the pledge with the allowance that no one has to say “those words” or paying tribute to the Creator of all law by having a monument to the Ten Commandments in front of a legislative building that people don’t have to stop and look at. These people, who want to offend no one, will not stop until they have removed God from every aspect of our culture and replaced Him with all kinds of idolatry.

Funny how these same people, who call themselves “liberal” because they want to allow everything; these same people, who force their values into the faces of me and family; these same people oppose the war on terror because the don’t feel we should force our values on another culture. I guess liberty and freedom are values that are not good for certain people?

From my perspective, the more “enlightened” or “liberal” a society becomes, the more ignorant they are of the true value of humanity. If we want to have a valuable society, we must vakue, what is valuable. Following are some comments made by Sen. John Glenn that I think illustrate this point…

“There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January [2004]. In the fair city of Detroit, there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

“FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us; Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

“Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950- 1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

“John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

“Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

“In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled Al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

“The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but it took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch-Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation. We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick. It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida.

“Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military Morale is high. The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts.

”In fact, the biased media and the liberal politicians they support count on our ignorance as the basis for their power. The need us to be ignorant so that they can convince us of their intellect and get us to buy into their moral degradation of our nation. They oppose anything that takes away their power because they are more interested in self-service than in the well being of the nation they serve. They are anti-worker when it takes power from the unions, they are anti-military when action is instigated by someone they oppose politically, but pro-military when it comes from one of their own group (regardless of the cause or outcome of the action), success or failure has nothing to do with it. They are pro-human rights if it means promoting sex or maintaining poverty, but opposed to protecting the human rights of those seeking morality and self-improvement. They are anti-God at every turn.

I leave you with an excerpt of an exchange between Senator John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum from the Senate floor on Mon, 26 Jan 2004. Not only is it a pretty good impromptu speech, but it is also a good explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):"How can you run for Senate when you never held a real job?

"Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):"I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank."

"I ask you to go with me, as I went the other day, to a veteran’s hospital and look those men in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!“

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job.

“You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I’d like to remember, and you watch… You stand there, buried than I'd like to remember, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

What about you?"For those who don't remember, during W.W. II Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney, representing the Communist Party in the USA. Now he's a Senator!

LoOoOong story short or just imagine that this is NOT a Prequal but a new beginning. I will take the time to write exactly what happened soon. Pray for me all that are willing....
